Book Club will be meeting on:

Monday 19th July and Wednesday 1St September at 10.30am both on zoom

For July we will re-look at An Officer and a Spy by Robert Harris

Paris 1985 an army officer, Georges Picquart watches a convicted spy Alfred Dreyfus being publicly humiliated. Dreyfus is exiled; Picquart is promoted to the intelligence unit and discovers secrets are still being handed to the Germans. Fact and fiction are united in this page turning book that threatens Picquart's honour and his life.

Also

Old Filth by Jane Gardam - the story of an international lawyer, a Raj orphan send 'home' from the East to be fostered and educated in England. Old Filth - Failed in London try Hong Kong - the first of three books telling the story of Edward Feathers QC, his wife Betty and his rival Terence Veneering and how their lives were intertwined for over fifty years.

We will also continue reading our own choice of books and bring details of them to the meetings.

During the summer we will be reading our own choice of classic book so now if the chance to read that book that you have always wanted to and we will discuss them at our September meeting.

More libraries are opening again and books can be ordered for collection, as well as bookshops and on-line retailers
