Book Club

Monday 6th December, 2021

11:00 am

Book Club will be meeting on Monday 6th December at 11 a.m. on Zoom.

This will be our last meeting this year, so bring your cups of coffee/tea/doughnuts/ cake and we will, in addition to our set author, discuss books we have liked over the year and books we would like to read next year.

Our featured topic this month is Crime and we will be looking at the books of renowned author Val McDermid.

Val has sold over sixteen million copies of her books, including several standalone books and four series of books: Tony Hill/Carol Jordan, Lindsay Gordon, Karen Pirie, and Kate Brannigan, as well as short story collections and non-fiction books – so plenty to choose from!

I chose to read Still Life, one of the Karen Pirie books. It was a very interesting read and easy to pick up the storylines without having read all the previous books in the series, and I will be choosing another of Val’s books to read.

All books are available from libraries, on kindle, via booksellers and ibooks as well as from second-hand on-line bookshops.

So please join us for a what will be an interesting morning. If you have read another crime novel recently, or have a favourite book/author please still join us – we would love to hear about it.
